My Trips to the Hospital

Hi, I'm Cari. When I was a teenager, my best friend Claire's mom got cancer. I started offering to take Deb (the mom) to the hospital for her treatments to help give the family a break. They had all been in and out of the hospital so much, and since I'm basically family to them, it was nice to support Deb and Claire. Not to mention, I was able to learn a lot about different medical topics just be listening and watching while waiting in the hospital. It was fascinating. To everyone's joy, after a long and hard two years, Deb finally beat cancer! I decided to start this blog as a memorial to all those who have struggled with health problems and as a resource to for anyone who needs to know more about hospitals and treatments.

Correcting Misleading Notions About Medical Services

Meeting your medical care needs is essential for helping you to live a healthy and comfortable life. However, there are many misconceptions and myths when it comes to receiving basic care from doctors. If you are to be an informed patient, you must have these notions refuted.

Myth: Going To The Doctor Is Always Inconvenient

One of the more prevalent notions that people will have about seeing a doctor is the idea that this will be a very disruptive and time-consuming process. Yet, there are online doctor visits that will allow you to avoid the hassle of visiting a clinic and having to spend time in the waiting room with other sick patients. By taking advantage of these online options, you can be sure that your healthcare needs are being met in the most efficient and convenient manner possible.

Myth: Online Doctors Are Too Expensive To Use

The costs of seeking medical treatment can be another factor that may discourage individuals from seeking this type of care. Unfortunately, it is common for patients to simply assume that online doctor visits will be more expensive than traditional clinics. Yet, this is the opposite of reality as many online doctor services are able to charge their patients a fraction of what traditional clinics charge. Furthermore, many of these online providers are able to work with insurance so that you can further reduce the costs of seeking medical treatment.

Myth: An Online Doctor Can Not Do Much To Treat Your Problem

It is often assumed that an online doctor will be unable to provide their patient with much in terms of medical care. However, there are a variety of ways that one of these professionals will be able to help their patients. For example, an online doctor will be able to provide patients with a variety of prescriptions to help them with their conditions. Also, these doctors will be able to determine when a patient requires the services of a specialist, and they may be able to arrange this type of treatment.

Online medical care can be an effective option for individuals that are facing illnesses that are most likely minor but highly disruptive. Yet, the misinformation that surrounds these medical providers can be enough to cause individuals to be hesitant about receiving this type of care. By knowing that online doctor visits are a practical option, that these services are able to work with insurance and the types of services they can offer their patients, you will be better able to evaluate whether this is a suitable option for your healthcare needs.
